Entertainment Weekly got an exclusive with Joss Whedon recently and said that he has already approached Summer before T:SCC was even canceled about starring on Dollhouse. Joss simply wants Summer to be in a role unlike one she’s played before – I definitely see his point, but I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing her on the show in any way!

Question: With Sarah Connor Chronicles canceled, please tell me there is a possibility of Summer Glau making an appearance on Dollhouse! –Jenn
Ausiello: The noise you’re about to hear is the sound of the Whedonverse exploding. Joss confirms to me exclusively that, well, he’s one step head of you. “If anybody thinks [bringing Summer onto Dollhouse] hasn’t occurred to me already then they have not met me,” he says. “I mentioned it to her before [SCC] was canceled. I was like, ‘You know, we should get you in the ‘house.’ But first we have to come up with something that works.” And casting her as a doll would not work, insists Whedon. “Summer would be perfect to play an active, but she’s done that [type of role] a lot,” he says. “I’d rather see her play someone who talks too much. The most fun I have is when I get somebody who’s good and comfortable at doing something, and then I make them do something else. Summer said to me, ‘I would like to play a normal girl before I die of extreme old age.’”

Dear Friends,

Here is my long overdue thank you note to anyone and every person who has watched our pride and joy Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles… Now that our season is done and I somehow feel far away, I want to say that it wouldn’t have been possible without faithful viewers; and it wouldn’t have been fun to make without such sincere interest from you…

I choose to post my note on Cristelle’s website so that I could also thank her for the beautiful work she has done, on my behalf, for this site. I come here to reminisce from time to time because she has posted so many of my best memories. Thank you Cristelle…

Anyway, I just want to say that acting for anyone who enjoys it is a privilege. Thank you all for helping make that possible. I am devastated that our show will not be back (Jameron forever!!!), but I can’t say that I’m ungrateful for the opportunity to be part of something so special. I’m really proud of what our team put together and eternally thankful to all of you for embracing what we were trying to do…

I love Josh very much and thank him. He pushed to make me part of this cast and created a series that was unique and beautiful. James Middleton held us together, staying with us everyday on set and talking us through every step… John Wirth and Jill Danton are all- stars that I pray I work with again….ALL of our writers. Toni, thank you for giving me Allison from Palmdale…

I was just going through my scripts this morning… (I thought it was time). I picked up-

“Born To Run”

written by Josh Friedman

I’m going to miss that so much. I’m really sad…

You know I’m not good at posting things but this is my effort. I’m not very brilliant, witty or poetic like my mentors (you know who they are) but I love you, S

While this is truly upsetting news to all us T:SCC / Cameron fans, we’re excited to see what Summer will do next; perhaps the Joss film or something new entirely!

“It was not an inexpensive show,” explained Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly. “We had to make some choices on the night. We looked at ratings track where it had a consistent run. And that trend line was not pointing in the right direction. We make no apologies for that show — we did a huge launch with that show. We tried. It was time to move on … Ultimately we bet on ‘Dollhouse.

Also regarding the site, I will be returning with some updates very soon. Like I wrote before I did leave the country, and then right when I got back lost my internet connection for some time.

There really are no major spoilers, but as always if you wish to know absolutely nothing, quit reading! Through the audience questions we learn the following about the show’s upcoming episodes;

1. All will be revealed about the three dots.

2. Summer really liked the addition of the Riley character because it allowed the audience to talk about if Cameron was able to feel jealousy or insecurity.

3. Josh does not want to add new characters created in the Terminator: Salvation

4. If Catherine Weaver and Cameron were to get into a fight, Catherine is much more likely to win.

5. The last 6 episodes of this season have a lot of Cameron, and she will play a huge part in the arc.

6. Josh likes to slow the storyline down to give the show less of a “Terminator of the week” feel to it. He wants to allow time for characters to go through an arc, but the last few episodes have had poor reviews.

7. No one knows whether the series will be renewed.

8. In the last 6 episodes there will be a lot of character development for all the main characters and lots of action.

9. Shirley and Summer will have a scene together.

10. Almost all of the big questions people have been asking about the previous episodes will be answered by seasons end.

11. Josh does not want Shirley singing on the show.

12. Josh hopes if there is no season 3 no one is satisfied, and the finale was written without thinking about if there would be another season. The finale wraps up a lot, but will open new doors and new questions.

13. Summer is really excited and sad about where her character ends up.

As a star of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and a veteran of Joss Whedon’s Firefly and Serenity, Summer Glau is accustomed to being recognized in public by enthusiastic and devoted fanboys.

On March 9, art will imitate life (or real life will intersect with art) when Glau crosses network boundaries to guest star as herself on CBS’ Big Bang Theory.

In the episode, airing on March 9, the brilliantly geeky heroes of Big Bang Theory run into Summer Glau on a train and, as one might imagine, they’re pretty excited about the chance for celebrity interaction.

Meeting with reporters before the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles panel at San Francisco’s WonderCon, HitFix asked Glau about her foray into sitcom work and how Fictional Summer Glau differs from Real Life Summer Glau.

“They’re very different,” Glau laughed. “I think that I was playing myself, but I was trying to be funny, they tried to make me funny. I was nervous, because it’s supposed to be about how I respond to people who know my work as Cameron, so I was concerned about how people might perceive that. But I was honored to work with such talented actors.”

A FOX star going on CBS to effectively plug her role on said FOX show seems a little unusual, but both Big Bang Theory and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles are Warner Brothers TV productions (and CBS probably wouldn’t figure T:SCC is much of a threat to its Friday supremacy).

“Bill Prady and I are friends,” added Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles creator Josh Friedman. “He’d done a couple little shout-outs over the last season, done one or two things. When I talked to him, he said, ‘Do you think Summer would want to play Summer?’ The script was really funny and the idea was really funny. I was at the read-through and I wanted to go when they were actually shooting, but I thought it would be a little weird. I didn’t want to be like the protective parent, the stage dad or something.”

Although Glau’s spot-on dead-pan delivery has generated comedy on her previous TV work, this was a different kind of experience.

“When you do drama, you try different things — Not my [Terminator] character, because I play a robot — you come in… and something might happen on one take that you didn’t expect and you just go with it and the scene flows with it,” she noted. “When you do comedy, it’s so precise. Every word can change whether it’s funny or not. I didn’t realize that. I had no idea. Every word that I would say, sometimes they would say, ‘Say it going up. Say it going down. Say it fast. Say it slow.’ That’s how specific it was.”

After reading the script, Friedman wasn’t worried about how the show would depict Glau and reflect on how she actually is.

“It was very respectful, I think of Summer, of her words,” he said. “Those characters make fun of each other all the time… She doesn’t want to be seen as someone who if you were a fan and came up to to Summer on a train and asked her a question, that she would mock you. That’s not Summer. She’s would never do that.”

Glau quickly added, “Yeah. I would never do that. So I was nervous, I was like ‘It feels like I’m being mean.’”

So will the Big Bang Theory actually encourage people to come up to Glau whenever they see her in public?

“Parts of it. I think things go wrong,” Glau said with a smile. “It starts out like it might be good and then things come apart. I hope it will be funny. I enjoyed it a lot.”

Glau’s Big Bang Theory episode airs on Monday, March 9.
