Summer Glau talks Big Bang Theory

admin » 01 March 2009 » In Articles and Projects » 2 Comments

As a star of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and a veteran of Joss Whedon’s Firefly and Serenity, Summer Glau is accustomed to being recognized in public by enthusiastic and devoted fanboys.

On March 9, art will imitate life (or real life will intersect with art) when Glau crosses network boundaries to guest star as herself on CBS’ Big Bang Theory.

In the episode, airing on March 9, the brilliantly geeky heroes of Big Bang Theory run into Summer Glau on a train and, as one might imagine, they’re pretty excited about the chance for celebrity interaction.

Meeting with reporters before the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles panel at San Francisco’s WonderCon, HitFix asked Glau about her foray into sitcom work and how Fictional Summer Glau differs from Real Life Summer Glau.

Summer Glau Arrives with a Big Bang

admin » 01 March 2009 » In Gallery, Media Alerts and Projects » No Comments

It’s pure nerd-vana on the March 9 episode of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory when Summer Glau — butt-kicking Cameron on Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles — guest-stars as herself. And this photo is a first look at what is ostensibly the gang’s reaction to stumbling upon (perhaps literally) the sci-fi siren.

How do Leonard, Sheldon et al come to be within sniffing distance of the brunette beauty? The unlikely, would-be encounter comes to pass as the boys trek to a sci-fi convention, only to realize that one of its biggest draws is riding the same train as them.

Also appearing in the sweeps episode — and giving TV’s “fourth wall” an equally fun nudge — is Nobel Laureate Dr. George Smoot, aka the father of the Big Bang Theory of Creation. But in all fairness, his abs don’t look as good as Summer’s.

Terminator’s Back, But Not For Long

According to TV by the Numbers. :(

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles returned to Fox’s line up on Friday, February 13 and its ratings got caught under a machine press. That the show will be cancelled is a foregone conclusion now. I think it’s likely that it finishes out its run this season though.

A more interesting case is the new Joss Whedon Dollhouse. After 2 weeks, I’d put it squarely on the top of the bubble, but any more erosion and it’s going to be a permanent memory wipe.

Summer Glau sets off a “Big Bang”

admin » 12 February 2009 » In Media Alerts and Projects » No Comments

Summer will play herself in an upcoming episode of CBS show The Big Bang Theory!

This has been a big week for The Big Bang Theory’s nerd herd. First, they score their best ratings ever, and now they’re getting to rub elbows with frakkin’ Summer Glau!

The Sarah Connor Chronicles siren will play herself in the March 9 episode, the set-up of which already has me ROFWLing: A train trip to San  Francisco takes a major detour when Leonard, Sheldon, Wolowitz, and Raj discover that their favorite sci-fi actress in all the land is on board. But the fanboy frenzy quickly gives way to a heated mass debate (tee-hee) when they realize one of them will have to approach her — but who?

It’s not too difficult to figure out how this cheeky cross-over came about, provided you know this little detail: The Big Bang Theory and Sarah Connor Chronicles (which returns this Friday) are both produced by Warner Bros.

Glau Packs Powerful Image Into Small Package

admin » 12 February 2009 » In 'TSCC' and Articles » 1 Comment

Pound for pound, Summer Glau is one of the toughest stars in the action film and television world. The fact she stands a mere 5-feet-6 and weighs about as much as a Boston terrier has not stopped the Texas native from being the muscle on TV shows like Firefly and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Who says you have to be a former bodybuilder to be a Terminator?
